Good Place for a Yak

I’m thinking about taking the Tarpon 140 out this weekend, but I think I’m going to head north. I live in Hollywood and usually fish the N. Edisto or Stono. I need to know some good places to put in in the harbor, wando, and any other places near Charleston. Thanks for the help!

Time Flys when your catching fish.

Try Paradise Island Landing on the wando, about 5 miles north of Hwy 41 off of 17 on the left hand side. A mile before on the right is Copahee sound, which can also be pretty good.

Good luck,

Put in at shem creek or remeley’s and fish the charleston harbor or upper wando. Hobcaw creek( try around feeder creek spillway right by the first marina) and the mouth of mollases are normally productive.

Got to Sunrise Park on James Island or the end of Waterfront Park next to the Pilot boat dock downtown. Check the tide of course, but I have made it out to Ft. Sumter from Sunrise Park. You can also make it to Ft. Sumter from Ft. Moultrie, but the boat traffic in the crossing the channel is hell. The platform next to the Pilot Boat dock is cool, but it does not float, so it can be a little hard but not bad. Just paddle around to the mud and take a rope. From there you can go to Castle Pinckney and back or paddle past the Battery and leave a drop vehicle at the City Marina.

I agree with Dolphin D, paradise and copahee are both top spots for me. Just watch teh tides if you’re heading out to Copahee.

Thats why they call it fishing, not catching
