good tip for multi piece fishing rods (esp.fly)

I am in the process of getting my fly fishing stuff together for a trip to western NC for the next few days. I have a really nice new fly rod and I remembered this little tip I learned a few years back. When putting together multi piece rods: 1)rub your fingers on your nose 2) rub the male ends of rods with the oils from your nose 3) assemble rod.I rub right near my eye and nose as there is a plethora of oils there. Or you can take the male ends and rub them around in your hair .It will oil them up just enough to keep them from permanently getting stuck together but not so much that the rod comes apart when casting. I got a brand new,300 buck, fly rod stuck together and it would not break down into smaller pieces. Dad was like," did you roll the ends in your hair?" I was confused for a minute and then I got it. Ever since then I have done it and it works. I am sure there is some fancy product for this that you can spend 10 bucks on, but this works for me. Thought it may be a good thing to share.

great tip! if they get stuck, put the rod behind your knees and for some reason, the angle will free them. OC’s trick

Temperature also seems to be a big factor. If I try to break a rod down at noon that I put together at 7AM, they often want to fight me. A little ice (or cool water rinse) usually helps.

I tried both of those things and a few others as well. I Took it back to the store and we almost broke it (did break the eyelets) trying to get it to come apart and it would not budge. They just let me get a new one.
