Had a friend yesterday look on GE to see if the Little Saluda was muddy, but he couldn’t tell, any one know!
I don’t think that Google Earth updates often enough to be able to tell what the rivers look like at the present time. It’s a national security thing I think, but not sure.
The size of a fish is directly proportional to the time between when it’s lost and the story is told. - Me
What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad

RIP my “Puppy Dog” 10/15/2004 - 1/14/2013. I’ll never forget him. What a special friend he was.
Google earth only updates every year or so. If you get on a computer you can actually go back in time to all of the images they have taken of an area and it tells you the date they were taken.

True, but then again we’re used to fishing in churned up water … Unless we’re fishing in the Keys …
But seriously, the rivers weren’t bad (in comparison to other times where it looks so thick you’d think you could walk on it) and besides the fish that are up there are used to the water clarity … Don’t like murky water but my understanding is that the silt doesn’t permeate the entire water column … Now if there’s a ton of leaves, sticks, and other floating debris then it makes fishing a pain and we tend to move elsewhere … Unless we’re marking a bunch, then it’s hard to leave …
I finley made it down yesterday and the Little Saluda looked like red wine, never seen water that color in my 60 plus years of fishing! The big was stained but not bad caught fish at the Amoco sign area. Then wind was a “B” but the anchor mode on the Minn Kota worked like a charm. Had water come over the windsheild going back up the lake!
You lake Murray guys wining about muddy water makes me laugh.

No one is whining about muddy water it is just not my preference to fish when there is quality fish biting in clear water
Tigerfin, I bet you don’t fish muddy water at Edisto IF YOU CAN HELP IT!!!
I grew up less than 5 miles from Low Falls landing. I’ve seen the Congaree river more dirt than water at times. Always caught fish there or in the upper lake no matter the conditions. As a matter of fact, I prefer muddy conditions to clear because that’s all I ever fished. When the water is clear, the fish are harder for me to catch.

You need a pretty high level clearance to get real time photos from outer space.
I’d rather fish than eat.
