I’ve been lurking long enough but finally got a boat so I figure I can start contributing to the forum since I’m not land locked. I’ve been out on the GCR a couple times recently and had great luck with minnows under a float. I had them sitting about 2-3 feet deep with split shot about 6" above the hook to keep them from swimming up. On Sunday a buddy and mine caught a mixture of crappie, bass, and white perch. All crappie were over 10". We were just drift fishing since the wind was light. I’d love to give water temp and depth details but I haven’t installed the depth finder on my boat yet. Hope that helps.

jerladd what time Sunday were you out there? I was out there at about 5pm-dark
Closest place to GCR launch for bait? Would yall wait until summer to drive out there, or is now the time. I love fishing for bass on the bed, but not if they dont bite haha

Yakman, Charleston Marine is the closest place for bait. Call them and double check their hours and see what they have. Now is the better time for crappie. I know a couple of guys that bass fish there but haven’t seen many brought out. I have caught a couple on accident while fishing for bream.

Yakman, try the bridge at the back side of the lake. bass are always poppin under there…also try around Eagle Landing area
Athon08, I’d say I was probably coming off the water a little after 5, right before it started sprinkling. I was in camo Lowe boat. Did you have any luck?

I don’t mind going to work but this sitting here for 8 hours waiting to go fish is bull.

I didn’t see any sprinkles. I was in a dark grey BassTracker 175. We were on top of them for the first hour or so and decided to troll and got about 15 within 30 mins. About 10 crappie and 5 white perch.
