Stopped by Academy Sport to pickup a new handles for a cooler and always like to checkout the fillet knives they have.
Anyway, they had the 6" Rapala Soft Grip tagged as “Hot Deal” for $7.99 each. Yes it was, as I bought all they had (6). it came with sheath and the little red sharpener thing. This was in Evans, Ga. but maybe there is one near you with the same deal.
Just checked and they have them online at Academy for the same price.

I like Academy as well though my kids say it’s the “Walmart” of sports stores (of course I’m the only one w a job). When I order from there online I google “Academy sports coupons” and sometimes find one that saves me some money.
As an aside, under captains inshore reports there is a title topic Rare Red, which is a picture of a large red w no spots. Never knew that was possible!!
I only went by Academy to purchase the cooler handles. Ran across the knives by getting lucky, I guess.
I spend 90% plus of my fishing $ at the local shops in Beaufort (Boat & Dock) or Hilton Head (Southern Drawl).
