Had 16 deer total come out today. I got in the stand at 4:00 pm. I might have had 10 minutes total that I was not watching deer. About 6:45 a spike came out and all the does ran like crazy. Right after the spike came out, a big 6 point stepped out right behind him. Both came to the corn, and the 6 point made sure he gave the spike the hrons a few times. I watched them for about 15 minutes, and this guy stepped out at 7:05. He dies at 7:05 and 10 seconds.
All that work paid off Skeeter! Did you shoot him from your Condo Stand? Good shot placement! What was the distance and did he run or drop? Very nice!
Yeap. I shot him from the box. I’m glad I built that thing too. It is nice in the rain. He ran about 30 yards…barley made it in the bushes good.

150lbs…maybe 160. Not a monster, but he is a nice deer.

Skinnee…I don’t think we are going to get to go flounder gigging. If this keeps up, I’ll be using my Skeeter to get to work. I hope it don’t hurt the trout too bad either. No telling how long the water will be muuuuudddyy from all this too. I’ll keep an eye on it though.

I get an inshore boat… 2 months later, 1000 year flooding changes the ecosystem. Mother nature is putting up her defense against the Skinnee One…
Nothing you can do about it, buddy. I’m just shaking my head. All the work I did for my deer is under water except one patch of dry land. I hope that makes it through one more day of this down pour.

You are not alone my friend…you are not alone. I killed this deer on the only dry patch I have left. The water will go down. This might be a blessing for me. It is going to force a BUNCH, and I mean a BUNCH of deer up from the Santee river basin and Wee Tee right over to me. They will arrive in about a week or two.

Nice buck! I hear they are starting to rub and scrape. Wish I could hunt. Our place is mostly under water. Edisto still 12-13’. You would have to have chest waders to get our best stands. A couple only by boat! Maybe by end of the month water will be down.

I hate it for you. The rain was crazy. I have plenty of stuff flooded, but nothing like that. I watched two 6 points chase does around Monday morning for 3 hours splashing water all over the place. They could careless about ankle to knee deep water. Heck, they looked like they were having fun.
