Seems like the reports from this past weekend compared to last weekend are a world of difference as far as trolling goes… Lots of double digit numbers last week and seems like half of that this week?
Opinions?

east wind on sat…
but it didn’t stop the BSB.
With water at 79 degrees in 110’, people are going out too deep. Passing up fish in shallower water. May be a good time for anchoring up and hitting the bottom while floating a couple livies with a balloon out back.

Every year, when the air temps start averaging in the 90’s each year, the offshore bite slows quickly.

I bottom fished 110’ to 120’ last summer (even as late as end of July) with mahi swarming the bottom of the boat. Needless to say, we brought home some Carolina Gold.

I’ve only been 3 times so far, but our best Dolphin action was this Friday.
Glad to see positive ■■■■■■■■. Thanks guys. We are limited on how far we can go anyways when trolling, so I think the plan is put lines in at 150’ and troll around looking for weeds etc. It just seemed that there were sooo many reports of GREAT FISHING last week then so/so fishing this week. And yes, I do know that CF does not reflect whats happening out there all the time.
Anyways, Im hoping to stop a few times tomorrow and maybe catch a few BSB or whatever else is out there. We have some rookies I think and I love to see people catch fish who never have before.
Shaarda,
that happend to us one trip last yea when we were bottom fishing, a school of peanuts swam to the boat every time we brought up a bottom dweller, so we started dropping swuid to em and pulled em in one after another. it was fun little trip.

The dog days are almost here. Please dont go to 1200 ft and troll. Its dead out there. Just stay on the ledge where the life is.
Kind of like the Wando River… No fish there, they are all in The Ashley…

That’s where I usually fish. I like spring and late summer best, though.
