I just couldn’t stand it, are they bunched up and crushing it yet? So, after a long day of work, had the boat wet at 10:30pm with Randy Dandy. My hopes were pretty high, as some boosts of confidence were sent my way by the striper slayer, aka “The Miss Amanda”. As I idled around, my hopes began to sink a little as the depthfinder was pretty void of life. Despite this, we began trolling around 11pm. Finally, around midnight Randy Dandy lands his first striper, a super fat 22"r. After that, well, nothing. So, opted to grind it out for the last little bit and landed a nice 25"r around 12:30am. By 1am, due to lack of cooperation from the striper and the rain, we called it a night. Other than that, here are a few tidbits about the trip…H2O temp 57…Very little bait activity seen or marked, except the massive schools of needlefish…marked more fish very, very deep (50’) than I can remember from recent trips…very little birds on the dam…So, that’s all for now. Hope to get back out there to report in a week or so.

I went on 11-12-12..Went during daylight and spent 4.5 hours trolling all over between Bonneau and Short Stay. Never found a school. I did catch 2 around 17". A week before that they were schooled up in front of Short Stay and we casted to them for 30 minutes. Biggest was 24" and they averaged 20". Fun as heck to catch..but man I want a legal one to eat ! Probably caught 25 or so. I have tried trolling at night a good bit. I still havent caught anything at night.

Thanks CR Man for sharing some information. I’ll be back out there very soon, just got to let them eat some turkey first .
