Today, Dandy Randy, Mr. Keys, and myself said the heck with what we could or couldn’t keep, but rather just fish for fun. That said, we left Remley’s around 7am to find a calm ocean waiting for us to tear up. We dropped lines in by 8am in the 70 degree water. It didn’t take long for the big knotheads to start coming in, but they did have some friends. We managed to get our fat pinkies, some triggerfish, and a baskets full of chunky vermillions. The grouper eluded us, as I think we pulled the bait on 2 fish as they were still chewing on the 10" candy bar. In the end, we caught a ton of fish in less than 100’, made it home safe, had enough fish for everyone, and still spent less money per person than a round of golf. It would be nice if we could keep more, but they can’t take away the sun rising over our God’s glorious Atlantic! Thanks again Derek and Randy for tagging along and having the patience to put up with me all day .

def a good day on the water. frustrating not being able to keep those absolute monster seabass… honestly think i saw the 3 biggest seabass ive ever seen today. lots of fat beeliners. our fishery is quite healthy
got home from my night shift at the light show a bit ago. drinking a cold one and then going to sleep for the next 12-24 hours
looking forward to a trigger and pinky dinner tomorrow
At least you got out there Andy and there is nothing wrong with trigger fish. I remember the good times about 4 years ago when you and I would head out on your KW in December and could get a legal cooler full of sea bass.
Glad you got out there Andy. Sounds like a productive day for sure. Wish I had more free time lately to take advantage of these far and few in between nice days.
