After a lot of cancelled trips, overtime, family time, and honey-do’s, the Got2Go was re-introduced to the ocean Tuesday. I must thank the boys down at Pioneer Boats for getting some misc. work done on it in a hurry to allow me to get out there. Awesome work, again. Now, for the trip. Mr. Keys and I didn’t like the weather, but it’s what we had to work with, right? So, we launched the boat around 9am down in Rockville to try to get away from the wind. We eased out of the inlet and eased our way out to the Edisto Nearshore to see what bait we could scrounge up. “Bait” was scarce or maybe they couldn’t get through all the weakfish down there to bite on the sabikis…who knows, but we left with our limit of weakfish, . Headed way south and scouted out an area to find a school of suspended fish that looked like the triggers we wanted…Lines go down, thump, heavy weight, and doubles of hefty ringtails come over the side,
. Oh my, this isn’t a good sign. So, we make the best of the situation as I brought the wrong anchor, the current is ripping, and the wind is still blowing, even harder now. Drifted an area of live bottom and got on an eclectic bag of fish that kept us busy as the sun sizzled on the ocean. Rode the trough back at almost 30mph under a starry and clear sky. It wasn’t the most productive trip, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
Glad you found a partner for the trip and had a good time.

When you think of how it wasn’t productive, remember how many of us wish we’d been there.
