By most, especially with the fishery shutdowns and hot offshore trolling bite, this is a boring post. But, to those who are interested in the “other” bite, here you go…
Last 2 trips we’ve fished for everything and I mean everything! Out to 30 miles or so, we’ve stumbled across giant schools of redfish up to 34", doormat flounder, cooperative triggerfish, topwater blasting and spoon eating amberjack, endangered red snapper and grouper, and the elusive 3-4# cbass that are a blast on 8# test [:0]. The sheepshead bite has been trickier than normal, at least for me, as the cbass are still annoying. No signs of cobia yet, but I’ve been looking and trying for them. My point is you can still go out there on these glassy, super flat oceans and have a ball for the cost of a round of golf at Wescott! The ocean is super alive in 60’-120’, so get out there and enjoy it!
