My boat and the Miss Amanda left Shem Creek @ 2:30am. I had my neighbor Tommy and good CF buddy Jordan with me today, as well as my new friend,
, microbacteria marinum. We had lines in @ 6:30am in 74 degree water and 300’, 7 miles inshore of 226 hole. I was skeptical about deploying the “new” bayboat spread (6 lines, 1 dredge, spreader bar, and another secret teaser) with a “rookie” crew, but did it anyways. At 6:45am we had a quad hook-up and landed all 4 fish without any tangles whatsoever.[:0].I’m still amazed! Anyhoo, trolled that area and had 7 in the box by 8:30am, but then it stopped. Pushed offshore towards the Ammo Dump, but the rough water and hard boat riding finally caught up to the 'ol Got2Go. The steering wheel broke 95% free from the fiberglass. Uh oh:dizzy_face:. Well, that cancelled any chance of going out farther, so we worked the morning area steering very carefully over and over. Around 11:30, the fish decided to feed again (funny how those feeding times predicted based on the moon work out). Tommy landed a STUD bull! The fish was never weighed, but was a STUD(the polaroid of it weighs 4#!). Ended up getting true 5" thick steaks off of him. I’ll try to post the pic, but it was a solid 40#, truthfully I think closer to 50#. Lines in @ 12:45 to give us extra time for the ride in with the steering wheel. Beautiful ride(35-40mph) in as the boat was back on the trailer @ 3pm despite the weekend traffic at the landing. Ended up keeping 11, mostly 14-18# cows, the big bull and throwing back a peanut. Again, thanks Tommy and especially Jordan for working so hard all day on the boat. The Lord provided us with a safe trip, great fishing, and wonderful fellowship!
