This is a little wordy, but here goes…
So, with big plans of trolling mid-week destroyed early Monday due to the wind, I half-heartedly glanced at Sailflow and a few others while sipping my morning cup around 7am. There it was, an afternoon window or so I hoped. After contemplating it and realizing my honey do list and all the effort if would take to make it happen, I opted to go for it.
I called MC Ben and of course, Northchucky just happened to be off too…go figure, . The boys were in especially after I sold 'em the game plan.
Finally, around noon, the 'ol Got2Go was purring next to the dock and itching to go. So, off we went to look for the brown bomber. We met an ocean that was very confused, mainly because it looked like a pond! Like a few days ago, things seemed right as we fished our butts off, but nothing, . So, around 2:30pm we chose to head out deeper. As we pressed out the wind that we were missing showed up with force. So, we changed directions and headed to a new area that I’ve never, ever fished. Idled around looking and nothing much, but were kinda out of options. D and Ben drop down some chicken rigs as we drift and I’m pitching out a new jig by Black Dog. Whooa, D and Ben are bowed up…oh my, 3 giant remoras! Then, a few sand perch and crazy looking aquarium fish start coming in…doh! Spirits were low in the 'ol Got2Go, but then something popped my jig and in a few moments a fat trigger layed on the bottom of the boat and spirits soared. After making a few more drifts, we had found what we were looking for and it was a true blessing. Quit fishing around 7pm and drove in with the throttle pegged as the sun set. A safe and productive day on the water that we were blessed with yet, again. Thanks D and Ben for tagging along. Ya’ll were a big help and fun to fish with. Next week, it’s green fish instead of red, grey, and brown!
