Got2Go 5/24/11 Cooper River Reds

Got a late start this morning as my partner, also my father, showed up a little late, again. Headed out to Bushy Park to launch and oops, he forgot his glasses. Finally, boat in the water and ready to go at 7am after planning on a 6am depart. Been out in the big blue recently, so had a few tips from a buddy on the reds or so I thought. Threw the net 3 times at the landing and had enough 3" menhaden for the day. Menhaden are thick, super thick in the Cooper! Off to the area and found the fish not cooperating as well as I hope as the rust on me was very apparent. Ended up catching a good many reds, all fat and in the slot. The spottail all fell victim to a 4" texas rigged finesse worm and spinnerbait. I could not buy a bite on menhaden and my father got skunked. A nice day inshore with some strong reds and one fat 3# flounder that is getting baked as I type… Always nice to be on the water, especially with your father. Time to go and eat that fat, crab stuffed flounder!:stuck_out_tongue:
