Fast. Just straight through with a fast or the fast and jerk method. Just don’t stop

Yakman, thanks for the tip…I’ll try it next time I’m out. I usually use live or cut bait, kinda new to the use of lures. Any help is very much appreciated!

What are you fishing for when you use these? Yeah I’m not the best lure fisherman, but I make it work! I’ve caught some good fish on plastics

Another thing to try, when in water 20 feet deep or less, is to let the Gotcha Plug sink to the bottom before you start bringing it back. Also, you can try retrieving it for 5-7 cranks, wait a few seconds, then crank again. Those methods will work sometimes when the Blues and Spanish are hanging around the bottom. Good Luck!

im usually fishing for reds, but im usually happy with catching anything. Flounder, spotted trout, whatevers biting. Im gonna try some plastics next time I’m out. Picked up some Jerk Shad soft baits and going to see what takes them as well. I usually cast out one or two lines with cut/live bait and try a lure or two in the meanwhile. Still learning the area and I definitely appreciate the advice you guys give.

Gotcha plugs are really for toothy critters like Spanish mackeral or bluefish… for the inshore species, try trout tricks, and Alan lures. Although gulp and DOA work well. I like the zman paddlerZ in Houdini, redbone, or gold rush. Although everybody had a favorite. I like to fish 2 bottoms and a popping cork instead of plastic, but I do throw plastics sometimes. You can work a popping cork just as well as a Zman.

Fast as hell is how I fish them, maybe throw a jerk in every now and then
