I just saw where congress had agreed to a government funding bill to avoid a shutdown at the end of this month. Isn’t it amazing how easily they can get this done in an election year when in other years it’s a big headache up until the very last second? Nobody wants to commit political suicide at the 11th hour? I remember last year! And while a government shutdown doesn’t generally affect me too bad, it sure gave me intestinal issues wondering whether or not my annual shrimping trip around October 1st would be cancelled! Politicians make me sick!

Back during Obama’s time they shut down the government. We were going out of Oregan inlet up in North Carolina tuna fishing. The feds came down and blocked off the entrance to the parking lot. The marina is NOT federal property, it belongs to North Carolina. Not a lot of happy fisher folks around there that morning.
