I’m looking into getting a GPS for my kayak. Any suggestions?
When I last looked a few months ago, the Humminbird 385i was my 1st choice. It’s a waterproof GPS/FF combo and quite popular with yakkers.
I really like Garmins, I have the GPS76CSX, I added a topo map to it and they
have blue water maps to, but because I am close to shore I only need the one.

Any GPS fine. Used to have a console unit attached to a alarm systenm battery. Found I used the GPS less and less over time (I only go so fast, and cover limited distance). Handheld with AA batteries works for tracking. However I still value a depthsounder/FF! Even an inexpensive B & W Eagle fine.
I like my Delorme PN-40. It’s a good yak GPS that is also great for hiking etc.
