Anyone else had this problem. Everything is on and lit up but I cant get it to bring up the satts. Compass page, and highway page not working. Antenna maybe?? I will call suppoert but they are closed on weekends. Its a Garmin 3006.
check your gps antenna. I have had the same problem with two different units and both times it was the antenna.
I had a 492 that would do that and I had to somehow (forget how)force it to acquire satellites. It was weird.

Last year they moved two so it may not be receiving all satts. There is a way to see which one are being received not sure how on your gps unit.
My garmin use to do the same thing so i just started going on the garmin website and downloading the updates if there are any and then upload them on the unit and havent had any problems since. i check for updates about every 3-4 months

Its you antenna, mine just started doing the same thing so I changed the antenna and now it works. You can find cheap ones on eBay that work great.

it’s not necessarily the antennae. It very well may be but when mine did the exact same thing I bought one and it still didn’t work.

Before you buy an antennae, try the autolocate feature from the GPS tab. You may need a new one but please try this first.
- Power unit on
- Hold down the Menu button
- Highlight the GPS tab
- Press Menu
- Highlight AutoLocate
- Press Enter
After you click on AutoLocate let it set for 20 to 30 minutes with a
clear view of the sky.
This is what I had to do to get mine working. If this works you’re going to need to update the software. Garmin will send you a chip with the update on it if your unit doesn’t have the capability to hook up to your computer.

Try cleaning the connector on the back. I used a toothbrush and a drop of woody wax, it was all I had at the time. It worked.
