I have a Garmin 498C. Is it possible to run the GPS cord to a small battery without having to be in the boat?
In asking this, does anyone have a used cord they would be willing to part with?
I would like to be able to key in points without having to be in the boat. What does everyone else do?
Yep, you sure can. I bought 2x each of the cables & the quick mounts for my finder and GPS units so I can use them on the little boat if I want.

That is one of my personal best finds. I believe it to be Pickwick but open to interpretation. Lowcountryboy emailed me right after I put the avatar up. He found one VERY similar while walking his dog.
I’d love to hook up and go on a hunt with ya. Too bad I’m all the way up here in middle NC! 
Getting harder and harder to have a place to hunt any more. I used to have more spots than I could tend…now I really don’t have a good, faithful spot thanks to artifact hunters worst enemy - NO TILL!!!
My daughter and I managed to find 2 killers about 2 weeks ago though…on a NO-TILL next to a major creek in Denton, NC.
p.s. my daughter LOVES finding shark teeth. I do too but I’m not as good as her.
