I have heard good things about the Garmin Colorado and Oregon but, I do not believe that you will get the needed maps (woods and inshore) with either. They usually come with maps for fishing or for hunting. You will probably have to buy add-on maps. I am sure someone will come along and correct me if I am wrong.
i have a garmin oregon.really like it.it comes w/a map cd you can load different areas you need on it.
Garmin 60csx. They are on special at basspro right now for $250. I use mine on a mount in my boat, and have used it for 2 years in the backcountry. Best compass money can buy (magnetic and digital). All the features you want, and 1,000 more that you’ll never use. Their newest top of the line GPS is the 63csx or 64cssomething is only a 60cs with updated button layouts. I’ve used my 60cs as an infantryman in afghanistan and iraq, through the mountains in colorado while climbing 14ers, and while fishing offshore and the flats in the Carolinas. The unit is a steal at that price, and does more than you need.
I have the Garmin Rhino and I love it!! Works in the woods and on the water. It also has a FRMS radio as well as weather channel.
