Grander in Kona!

Funny, the textbook roughneck local spot is named after a white cat named Dale Velzy.

Duke, i will release every grander I catch. I am not interested in bringing fish to the dock to have folks gawk at them no matter the weight. If I catch an all tackle worl record marlin it will be released. I do not care to win tournaments or money to kill fish. I have released fish that whould have broken records before and will continue to do so. Killing big fish is stupid and the sportfishing crowd needs to follow the guatemalen lead and make billfishing release only. Hanging big fish is dumb and dumber today

Money can’t buy preservation of the resource and will not replace it after the idiots deplete it completely.

Chumking,

So here is the thing. I have never killed a Billfish and trust me when I say that I have caught a bunch. I complain all the time when I see any fish under a 1,000 killed, because that is not a special fish. Nice fish, sure, but not special.

A captain who depends on fishing for his income is a lot different than maybe most of us as I am not a captain. That one hung 1,000 pound fish will bring a lot of business to this captain and to Hawaii. Just like the TBF talks about the economic value of release, there is some economic value to hanging a large fish.

Guatemala is nothing but a sailfish factory, so of course they release them.

Your attitude and actions are to be commended.

They got more than sails in whatamala… they just aint in the ocean…

Polly Wanna…

There are quite a few marlin in Guatemala as well.
