Gray Bay

Anyone ever fish in Gray Bay behind IOP? Is it super skinny water to get back there?

Joke question ???

Nope. Just bought a boat and only been out once. Trying not to make any mistakes if you know what I mean.

Yes its shallow water. If you want to fish there, you need to take it slow and explore at low tide. There are hundreds of areas of oysters that are covered by just inches of water at times. Most of these are exposed at low tide. It’s not a great area for a new boat unless you are very familiar with it.

Or you enjoy that sound of oyster shells mating with fiberglass.

Be sure to pack a lunch and lots of water for a potential extended stay.

You need to watch out at very high tides also…thats when everything looks like a clear path but there are lots of high oyster bars that separate the waterway from the Gray Bay and points near the shore.

And, enjoy waiting for the tide to drop the rest of the way out and come back in enough to float you.
