I have the same scope with a mil-dot reticle instead of the BDC, and I paid far more for it a few years ago. great in low light etc… I might pick one or two up on the chance I buy a new plinking rifle for practice and incase any friends need a good scope cheap. I would compare this to $400 leupold scopes any day. I don’t think it can be beat at this price!
That was the worst scope I have ever owned. Sent it back twice for failures, the third one got sold without ever opening the box. Nikon is like Chevy to me, they failed me one too many times to be trusted.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Really? Wow sorry to hear that. Kind of surprised you have had issues since before I bought mine i looked up the reviews and it was one of those rare things where all the reviews were positive. I have this same scope on one of my 30.06’s for 3 years now and it’s been great. I’ve only had to re-zero (actually adjust sights, not just check) 1 time.
Mind me asking what failed so I can keep an eye on mine?
Uhhh - that pun was totally unintended!
First was a detached reticle which I discovered after I watched a very nice buck bound off into the woods. Second was a broken erector spring on the elevation turret I discovered after sighting in and missing a doe. There wasn’t a third time, I sold the next one they sent. Put a Ziess Conquest 2.5X10X44 on the Sako 75 7mm08 and have killed everything I put it on since then. Then there is the Nikon Binos I had, one day perfect, the next fogged up so bad it looked like the interior was filled with cotton. Haven’t used a Nikon product since. Haven’t missed a deer or anything else I shot at since either.
Some people like Nikon and have good luck with their products. Chalk it up to a run of bad luck on my part but I won’t own another one. I look at it this way, go on Natchez and look at the amount of refurbished stuff they sell, no thanks, I want mine furbished right the first time.

What was the price? Looks like it is sold out now.
Yeah they sold out quick. It was $149.99 for the 4.5-14 Nikon Buckmaster with BDC reticle.
