Never been to this part of the country before. My wife and I are flying up mid July for a wedding and then taking two weeks to see our great country and our great country’s attic, Canada. Taking the flyrod of course. If I use it or not is to be determined. We will be in:
Wisconsin
Michigan
Illinois
Canada (Toronto)
Upper New York through Niagra
Is there something I shouldn’t miss? We’ll have a rental and plenty of time on our hands, so the sky’s the limit!

Checkout the Mackinac Bridge that connects the lower *****ula to the upper *****ula in Michigan. If ya do, take the ferry to Mackinac Island. Spend a night at the Grand Hotel. Beautiful.
If you can manage a fishing trip up a little further north in Canada, it’s epic. Walleye, northern pike, trout. Pike are a blast, their name esox Lucius (water wolf) is well earned
Might be a tad early for them depending how far north. Early June is the time

Since you are going up the east side of the state check out Door county area. Also that would be a good area to do some lake trout fishing in Lake Michigan on your way to the U.P. I was hoping to steer you to a couple of breweries in Chippewa Falls (Leinenkugels) and in Rhinelander (Rhinelander Brewery) but would be way out of the way. Enjoy Wisconsin! I was raised there and miss it 6 months out of the year! You need to find a cheese factory that sells fresh curds. Best thing ever.
