I have been on vacation in Pennsylvania for the past week and got some great bass fishing in. My wife tried it out (first time since she was a kid) and hooked her first Large Mouth Bass - 14". Now all she can talk about is fishing! So we go to Dicks and I wanted to get her a rod for herself. She stumbled upon an Abu Garcia 6 Ball Bearing single piece graphite spin combo on clearance for 69.99 and an additional 50% OFF CLEARANCE and a $20 rebate! I got her one and one for me for 70 bucks and 40 dollars in rebates coming.

Good luck on that in the salt. Stick to Penn, Shimano, and possibly Okuma

Like stated above, if this is the Abu Cardinal SX reel then it is a freshwater reel. It says so right from Abu. However it looks like you are freshwater fishing, so party on.
Nothing wrong with buying a great deal on equipment as long as you use it for what it is made for. We all love spending $100-$200 on a reel for the salt, but for freshwater I like Abu, and Quantum. Great prices and the stuff holds up on the lake.
For the salt, I use Shimano, and sometimes Okuma’s on the beach.
Might have to go grab a few of these for the kids/wife.
