Had an offshore charter today. Ocean was rough 3-6 ft. all day. While anchored up bottom fishing had a Great White Shark cruise up behind the boat and check us out for a while. I took about thirty pictures. The glare and rough sea didn’t make for ideal conditions. Wished Id had a GoPro. Here’s a few of the pics.
Doesn’t look big enough to be the one that was in the area last week…Mary Lee I think. Maybe she brought a friend. That must have been pretty cool.
Thanks for sharing! Any Grouper?
Had four keeper Gags an Aj through back a lot of BSB, Vermillions and a couple ARS. We got a good look at this shark and we couldn’t see any transmitter. It did look to be smaller than the other one. I have only seen a couple up close over the years and its always awesome!
Capt Mark what depth were you in?? thanks for the pics…i would love to get to see one up close
80 feet
Hey Mark thats awesome. So, if you had a gopro on board would you have jumped in to film it or is that the mates job?

Awesome! Jerry didn’t want to put on the mask and snorkel and take a peek?
No I was more thinking on the lines of an extension pole, plus I don’t think Jerry would have got in the water ![]()
Thanks for sharing the pics…awesome fish! That is why I stay out of the water in Nov out there.

I thought Pointers were rare off our coast. First Mary Lee now Ms. Brownie. Yikes.

Well, ignorance was bliss! Im happy ive never seen one of those guys diving out there. I know weve got some big tigers but whites? Id probably swallow my regulator if i saw that thing out there!
Man, you guys caught dinner and got a rare show! I hope that warranted a good tip…
Saw a lot of Northern Gannetts diving on the way out that day too.
Last time I saw that many of them I also saw the Bluefin Tunas about nine miles from the end of the Jetties as we were heading to the Chas60.
That was two years ago day before Thanksgiving. Haven’t seen any yet this year but the Bonitas, Lil Tunny, False Albacore’s or whatever you want to call them are thick right now.
Maybe also what those sharks are following!
Beautiful. I envy the experience of seeing a GW in the wild (FROM A BOAT
). Thanks for posting.
