I saw one on the 4KI 3 years ago the Sunday after Thanksgiving that makes that one look like a baby. It was eating our sea bass on the way up like popcorn. It finally surfaced and circled several times. Scared me to death. I shook for an hour. Wish I could have gotten a video, but my phone at the time didn’t have the capability. I reported the sighting to Robert Wiggers, and he said he wasn’t surprised as the week before an 18+ footer was sighted off Savannah.

I saw that too. I think the pro-shark research organization did that to prevent causing jaws like mass hysteria. I looked at the time between the pings and it would have only needed to go about 3mph to get there and back.
They had it on the local news this morning in the upstate.

Look at Brenda Fassie in southern africa. It shows just inland from the beach but when you look closer and show the history you can see that it clearly was caught and eaten. You can even see the group of houses in the center of cluster of dozens of recent GPS pings.

Some,of those recent points are really close in, like I was running thru some of those area just off the beach. Why would a shark that big come so close in? What’s it eating?
I really wish they would tag a dozen or so more off our coast. I would totally donate to that and the discovery channel would make more tv episodes out of it. Even better if there was a cell phone app to track them. I’m diving Sunday with bug catcher and crew so wish us luck. This time of year the grouper come in shallow and get stupid so it is a great time to dive. Looks like the sharks know this as well.
