I just read about a large Great White washed-up on Morris Island recently. I think it was a 13 footer. They said they can get to 20 feet. Check-out the pics on Tideline here…

Have they listed what killed it yet?

they don’t know what killed it. talked to the guy in the picture-- they looked in the stomach: no foreign objects of note, but some kind of large fish scales remained. possibly red drum, picked off a reef nearshore. liver looked fine, no injuries externally or internally. could be that it died of starvation… but why a superpredator would stop eating is beyond me. now it’s just a tiny pile of skin that the seagulls couldn’t eat sticking out of the sand, all but invisible in the fog.
Maybe it was chasing the monkeys and got stuck onshore!
