Nice video. That was one big shark.

A couple of guys who dive out of Murrells Inlet saw two while shooting fish at the end of November. They were about 40 miles out both times and the sightings were several miles apart. As the story goes, they were shooting fish and the first one came in hot, making several passes while they sent their stringers up on lift bags. After that it vanished as they high tailed it to the surface. The second was about a week later and it came in nice and slow circling many times until they got back on the boat. They said the second one was as big as a bus.

Either way, I hope I never see one.

Yeah we saw one while we were spear fishing on a wreck in 50’ out of little river which is near MI. I had just shot a spadefish and was in the process of stabbing it in the brain to stop it from thrashing around when my dive buddy in front of me gave me the shark sign and pointed behind me. As soon as I turned the shark took off and we quickly made our exit to the boat to drop off our cargo. We went back down a few minutes later to try and get some good pictures but the viz was only about 10’ so none turned out. One of my friends at the DNR sent me a picture of the same white shark at a baited pot a few miles away from the day before.
I kinda always assumed they were here but that they weren’t to interested in people that weren’t on surf boards.

You ran into a great white in water with 10’ of viz, got out of hte water, and then you willingly went BACK IN??

That sucker could have snuck up on you. WOW! You are brave!!

Just trying to learn every bit I can about saltwater fishing…

Posting on a message board all the time doesn’t make you smart. Frankly, it just means you probably need to get a life.

Thanks for posting this video.

Anyone want to buy some dive gear?

True if we were in southern cal, south Australia or south America, but luckily those of us who surf here don’t have to worry about it…water is too dirty on the beach for them!
