so its been a while since i posted on here (prolly a year) i actually had to make up a new account b/c i think the canceled mine… oh well i was able to get the same ol’ member name for those who remember me.
anyway, I finally decided to invest in a kayak about two weeks ago. with gas prices goin up so high i cant even afford to take out my little john boat with a 25 on it, haha… with that being sad, i think ive found a new love. kayak fishin has been great to me in these first two weeks. i live over by the citadel, about two blocks from the ashley and can be in the water in 15 mins when i get home from work. beats the hell outa trailorin the boat to the wappoo or folly.
ive been almost every day since i bought her and have caught at least one fish every time out. been hittin the grass beds along the ashley between the citadel and dolphin marina. trollin mostly with a spinner, nothin but trout, anywhere from 12 to 20 inches. theres also a good little oyster point directly accross from the citadel marina. ive hit that up when its too choppy to troll. caught a 27 inch trout on a mud minnow (carolina poppin rig) sunday afternoon at high tide.
just wanna say im hooked on kayak fishin, and i do have something to ask for those of you who are more seasoned than myself. Ive fished folly for the better part of my 23 years of life and have found alot of spots… however, since i live on the ashley now and can easly get in the water would anyone be willing to give up some spots in the area around el cid thats worth paddlin too? i would be much ablidged
