going up to greenville tuesday and wednesday and was gonna try some trout fishing up on the saluda. anyone ever do any fishin up thhere and if u can catch trout in august or is it to hot/
i hit the saluda in the upstate last week and all my trout water in the lower section was too hot, only caught smallies, redeyes, sunfish, and suckers. Try the upper end of the Jones Gap section of the saluda, i didn’t make it there last time, but its usually cold throughout the summer.
i was planning on heading into jones gap park…figured the higher elevation would hold some colder water but ill be happy with some smallies if the trout arent biting. ill post a report tuesday night
