I might be behind the times on this one but here goes anyway. I have been fortunate this year with an excellent crop of Asparagus. Filled a gallon bag with fresh cut sprouts and covered in Kraft sun dried tomato dressing put it in the refrigrator about 8 hours. put on the grill and lightly cooked it. Sure beats it steamed! Did some last night with Italian dressing on the grill. I can see a lot of different combinations with this.
Brush with EVOO then just add fresh ground pepper and sea salt. No need for all the dressing. Just peel the bottom portion of the stalk to get rid of the tough “woody” part.
A good accompanyment to it is to take some fresh shrimp, peel and devein and marinade in Newmans Own Lime Vinnegrette for about 3 to 4 hours (note juices and acidity start a ceviche type reaction in skrimps) skewer and grill basting with the leftover marinade every time you flip them. Skrimp candy for sure.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Try topping grilled asparagus with a fried egg. Awesome!
Never surrender!
Never say die!
Agree. Just put in a gal. zip-loc. Add a little evoo, season as you like (be daring),shake it up to spread the seasoning and oil, grill. Nummy!!!
PS- easier to cook in one of those cheap grill’in baskets/bowls from walmart.
I’m going to have to try that fried egg thing. Also those spears are pretty easy to grill on a piece of tinfoil folded into a little pan. They don’t droop over and burn at the tips. Love that stuff!!

Grilled asparagus is one of my favorites, hot grill, turn em a couple times and dont overcook. I prefer a crisped outside, but mostly uncooked inside. That burnt tip can be fixed by moving the tips off of the direct heat. Broiling asparagus works well also.
“season as you like (be daring)”, absolutely
Also, if the tips are getting little too crispy just brush a little more evoo or italian or whatever on em make that burnt spot moisten up and taste as good or better than the rest of the spear.
I had some fresh asparagus out of the graden yesterday, raw. I can hardly make it past em w/o eatin at least one.
We like it raw too! My daughter prefers it raw dipped in ranch. I’ll have new potatos in another week. Pulled a bush just for giggles and had some about an inch 1/2.
nice!

I do th egrilled asparagus too. I have one of the mesh grilling pans and it works awesome. Keeps everything from falling through but still lets you get a little char on the veggies.
Try the asparagus marinated with a little soy sauce and sprinkled in sesame seeds.
