Grilled oysters

First try at this. Bought a bag of them from Flowers at Edisto. Put them on grill and followed an article I found and took all of them off once the first one opened, and it took 3 rounds to get all cooked on a smaller grill. Next time I will divide them into 3 sizes if I use this technique so that they are more uniformly cooked. Anyone think shucking them first and grilling on half-shell is better? This would open options of cooking with various sauces on them.

New Orleans grilled oysters are some of the best I’ve eaten. Half them and load with a mixture of garlic lemon butter and parmesan cheese. Grill on super high to burn them up some when the shells pop there are usually good.
