Group from work...

Haven’t really looked into deep sea charters around here, but about 12-15 guys from my work are wanting to do some Red Snapper fishing when the season opens. What are some charters around here that are good? Really looking for a “party” charter where it costs about 50-60 a person. Any info would be awesome.

pretty sure there isn’t a red snapper season anymore sadly

charleston doesn’t have a “headboat” anymore. the new inlet princess in murrells inlet does all day trips for something around $90 a head. probably your best bet. i wouldnt bother with the half day trip as all you will catch is seabass which you cannot keep… which is a whole other topic

i had a great time with those folks last time though. going on the overnight trip in june this year

good luck to ya

Just seen that the Atlantic basically banned Red Snapper…there’s plenty of them out there, not sure why they’re afraid the numbers will completely vanish.

Athon08! Good luck finding anyone to take 15 people out for $900! I guess you want bait and tackle supplied with that? Better get some deeper pockets. The price of fuel would cost that much for a boat that size. Only saying, not trying to be smart. Check out some of the Charter prices on the sport fishers and you’ll see what I mean. Who ever game up with the saying, (A boat, is a hole in the water, that you throw money in), sure was telling the truth!

Naw, i totally understand 900 for 15 people is a low price. They were looking for a headboat like they have in Myrtle and Destin. But seen one that was $128 a person for a 1/2 day. Not too bad

There is a boat that goes out of either Little River, or Calabash NC, part of the voyager fleet. It’s a large sportfisher with huge open deck, they take 16 -17 guy’s out at a time for around $160.00 per head all tackle/bait supplied. They do charter as well I think it’s around $2600 for first 12 guy’s. extra to take more, boat is fishable with that many but it’s typical headboat shoulder to shoulder fishing.
