Took dad out for his first time in five years on 7-04. One cast at the mouth of shem creek had enough pogies for three boats. Ran to the sixty, wanted to go to at least 100 foot but was too rough for dad. So much for the 5 knot variable. More like 15 knots NE. Anchored up on some live bottom. On keeper bsb. Not much action other than under size bsb and sea bream right on top of some good lookin bottom. Let out about three hundred foot of anchor line to some new bottom. First pogie gets hit. 23 inch gag. Next drop pogie get nailed by a stud. Got him about ten foot off the bottom and pulled the hook. Next drop 22 inch gag. Couldnt buy a bite after that. Pulled lines at 10:30 and dropped dad off and picked up the gf. Never knew there were grouper at the 60.
Quite a few actually, just smarter than the average fisherman.
