Grouper Closure Question

Does the Rec grouper closure begin at 12:00 Saturday night or 12:00 Sunday night? Just want to make sure I’m clear.

Paul, I’d buy frozen grouper if it was done right… so if you wanna stash some I’m sure there are buyers who would still take good frozen grouper for din din. Like me.

Gary, I will still be getting fresh groupers from the gulf coast

I know we can’t keep em’ but can we catch and release during the closure? Put together a few baits and really can’t wait to try them! - Planning on going out for triggers but was curious if we could still fish for grouper? Pushing the limits???

Those triggers and yellowtail (among others) will eat live baits just as good. I have caught a bunch of nice triggers on big boy jigs as well…

So, who is gonna see ya catch 'em?? Just do your best to get 'em back down safely…:slightly_smiling_face::wink:

Thats what I thinking too! A boat full of triggers and try some new “stuff” while out there!!

Why catch them and risk killing them through decompression? Grouper do not do well with venting.

Thinking about putting a few “special” rigs together and didn’t get a chance to try em’ before they shut us down! That’s All! Hoping to spend the off-season getting ready if it works!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I do agree. We’ll be out there tomorrow, but I will not be taking anything to target groupa…
