I know the grouper will move in as fall approaches but are they hanging in 100 ft or less this time of year?

Some are, but most are deeper right now.
They’re pretty thick at all the sites I’ve been diving on. Shouldn’t have any trouble hooking them if you’re fishing 60 ft or more and you have skill or luck.

I had two different divers tell me no grouper are in 100 feet. That’s why we ran deep.

We got plenty with spears a couple weeks ago at 60-70 feet. Maybe their spots are all fished out. Lots of Gag last time I checked. If the weather shapes up this weekend I’ll get some video and you can judge for yourself.

That’s a tough fish to figure, but you can’t go wrong in 120 feet anytime of the year.
