Headed out to 70’ with jimmy on Omega 3 along with Bruce & David to try for some groupers. had a hard time finding any good bait. there were a few at the 60, but the cigars were very small. As we fished I kept trying to get bait & caught a few 14’gags along with a few white grunts and small bliners on the sabiki rigs. we caught more then 20 short gags, scamps and one 20’red. Kept one 18lb gag, a good mess of grey triggers,and lots of really nice bsb’s for this time of year. We fought a really bad current with opposing wind which kept us spinning on the anchor all day and made it very hard to keep on the fish. Seas were very nice but the east then NE wind caused us to try many times to set up. every time we would start to catch fish we’d drift of the bottom structure. it was a great day, minimum gas, plenty of meat, good crew. if the heat keeps up i will leave the dogs on the porch a little longer!
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
