Growing bone

The boys are growing good bone already.

We’ve switched to Advanced Wildlife Solutions for our minerals and attractant. This particular spot had a protein block called Pro20. We also use their Antler Addict mineral (not the blocks) and their 4s Draw and the deer are absolutely killing it. We’ve been putting it out since early February and I’ve been blown away by how well and how quick the deer have taken to it. We’ve been seeing a lot of does on this stuff this too. We’ve seen a bunch of big fat pregnant nannies and some VERY new fawns on camera. Pretty exited about the upcoming season.

Not sure what the exact makeup of your minerals are, but most are made of salt. Low Country deer minerals are made up of what a deer needs, not just salt. You may want to take a look at their product?

Regardless, keep up the supplemental feeding, it will eventually pay off!

I can’t wait to see the new pictures from the cameras we have set up at our places. You got some good looking boys right there.

There’s a reason we switched to AWS. They too acknowledge most “popular” mineral providers on the market contain primarily salt so they’re not one of them.

The owner that started this company is actually a cattle farmer. He was frustrated with the lack of nutrients in a lot of the commercial products he was using so he (he also has a wildlife biologist background) started working with other biologists on feed products that were more nutritionally beneficial for his cattle. Well, when he was able to do that for his cattle and see the results he was looking for, being a lifelong deer hunter, he turned his attention to deer. He recognized most of what people were/are buying is nothing more than a “popular face” on a “eye-catching bag” that contained a bunch of junk. After doing his homework on this product and using it for a couple of years to gauge it’s impacts, he was happy with the results and then launched the company.

For me, there’s not need to look anywhere else for my mineral/supplement/attractant product. They also make a few food plot seed blends too but we haven’t tried them…yet. I appreciate the advice though.

Thanks Willow.

That’s a new spot we’re scouting and that particular camera was only in there for two weeks. After seeing the traffic in such a short period of time, I went back in there the other day and replenished the Pro20 block, a little more 4s Draw and I created a mineral site and then set two cameras in the area. Going to let them sit for a month or so and then go see what we have. The hardest part is staying out of there and giving the cameras a chance to collect good data. Lol!!!

Sounds like the owners of LCDM, they're farmers and deer hunters . Keep up the good work.

Will do. Hopefully I’ll have some more pics to post after I check the cameras again in a few weeks.

Your so right about staying away from the cameras being the hardest part. We have had quite a few two year olds so far, and a couple possible 3 yr olds. Have yet to see any fawns but have seen a bunch of pudgy does. We will be checking on the food plots and cameras today or tomorrow. I have learned so much about deer and hunting in the last 2 years.

One of the many things that keeps me coming back is the fact there’s something to be learned every time out. Good luck this season.
