No, I am about to check myself in the ER for extreme exhaustion.

First off, great load of fish.

May be a dumb question but…are pompano good viddles? How do you like to prepare them?

No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how far you fall…you are never out of the fight.

Not a dumb question at all. I have not tried AP but while cleaning it last night the fillet was fairly similar to a triggerfish fillet. White and firm like a porkchop. I’ll let you know how it eats.

I volunteer as a test subject to try this experimental food. For variable control, I suggest the dinner protocol also include beer and blackened seasoning. Let me know where to show up!

Great haul! I haven’t seen an AP in real life.

Sweet catch!

Sorry, I blacked out after you said triggerfish and pork chop.

If it’s anything like either of those two or a combination of both, they are officially on my “what’s for dinner” list.

Haha, if Sellsfish ever has AP for sale, I’d set the asking price at $20/lb and it wouldn’t be unreasonable. Amazing with a little blackened redfish magic and a hot cast iron pan.

I lived in Hawaii for a few years the first pompano I caught I went to fillet it the neighbor was watching and yelled “what are you doing?” “Don’t fillet that fish gut it and chunk his ass on the grill whole”. My back yard was the ocean always had a pole out. Well that was the best advice I have ever had. Put him on the grill whole flipped the fish skin peeled right off was like pig picking pretty much.

what is the best way to target these fish??

I just chunked whole good sized squid out but this was in Hawaii I’ve never caught any off S.C. yet but I’m sure same thing would work.
