I had multiple groups fishing these days. One group on the famous Capt Hook with Capt Eddie on a 42 foot willis, and myself Capt Chris Starrs ran a local boat called ‘‘La Joya’’ 30 foot rampage for the once a month national tournament circuit.
Capt Hook- Capt Eddie-3 Day Total
3 days caught 110 Sails and Two Blue Marlin 3 Dorados
La Joya-Capt Chris Starrs- 2 Day Total
Day 1 inshore:
Sailfish
35-32-15
Day 2 offshore:
Sailfish
68-56-25 (SANCOHOs! aka my group sucked)
Total 2 Days: 40 sails 2 big dorado
The last day we were late getting to ‘‘the spot’’, but it was firing. I rarely use that term. Firing is literary a term used when triples and quads keep coming even while the boat is parked fighting another triple or quad. No eating, no drinking, just dropping baits back and reeling fast! At one point while backing down to get a release anglers were catching sailfish in-reverse as they drag their baits back words! Now that is hot! More to come!!!
Big Mahi, big blues in the mix as well. Best fishing I have seen in years and no sign of slowing down. We still have March & April dates if anyone is interested.
