guide light

Hey guys anybody have any good ideas on a good guide light.Need a bright light to install infront of my boat. Also some good bright light to put around the inside of the boat:question:

i replaced my sidelights (red and green) after last summer. rode popped them off. got the attwood LEDs, good for 2 miles. kinda pricey though. for my all around white, i use a 2 D cell maglite (LED with head and reflector cone removed) duct taped to a seven foot ~1.25 inch diameter dowel. fits nicely in the upright rod holder on the console and keeps the light out of captns eyes. on your boat, side lights need to be visible from at least one mile and the all around white light needs to be seen from two miles.

actually not the navigation lights spmirhs.they are already installed.was talking abt a bright light i could use to get around the water at night thats shhines a good distance, also some lights i could put inside the boat around the rails.i was also thinking about putting some led light or something on the outside lip of the rail for night fishing.needed to try and find some good ones though that will not kill battery fast

oic…I would look for something LED for interior lighting. they use very little power. Q-beam for spot light.

i agree with sp. if you need a light in a pinch a q-beam will be fine…

99% of the time though no light is needed. and using one will only blind other boaters.

those sticky little led, push on, push off lights are cheap, battery-powered, and go anywhere. point them straight down under the rail somewhere if you’re like me- hate that stuff in my eyes but need it on the deck sometimes.

there are some rechargeable LED q-beams out there now that are very light and very bright. black and decker makes a good one for 20 bucks.

dang, code didn’t copy. you get the drift.

I bought a 12V light from Agri Supply and used part of a Ram mount to attach it to my grab bar on the console. I added a plug to it and plug it into the receptacle on my console. The receptacle is switch activated so I can just turn it on when I need it. I use it shrimping and it works great

Thanks guys.I will try the q beam if i can find it.Lmao yeah i gotcha barbawang.

Check Cabelas for the GoLight GoBee. I have one that I use for the early morning duck season runs when it is jet black out. It plugs into you bow light houseing, has nav light on it and a remote control to move the light around. It works well.

Harbor Freight has several lighting options to choose from, and cheap enough that the cost won’t kill you in the process!
