Guides/Captains in the Middle Keys

I head down to the Keys every year in May. Looking for first hand referrals and contact info on Guides/Capt in the Mid Keys. Marathon/Islamorada/Duck Key area for back country and reef/wreck fishing. Past years I have researched online and had decent luck as well as bad. Hoping to get some info on here from anglers who have first hand knowledge/experience with guides/Capts down there. Much appreciated.

Went out with this guy last year for 2 days http://www.catchalottafish.com/ . Great captain put us plenty of fish ! Second day we went sail fishing the bite didnt pick up til our trip was almost over . He kept us out an extra 3 hours went 2 for 5 on sails and plenty of other fish !

We used Jeff Malone at Tarpon Time last September. He was outstanding and had us on fish all day.

Why?It dont get no better than offshore Carolina in May!

Thanks guys. I appreciate the suggestions/■■■■■■■■. I actually read an article 2 weeks ago on Capt James with Catch A Lotta Fish. I called, spoke with him, and seemed like a nice guy. Was actually thingking of using him but wanted to get some personal reccomendations rather than just going on what I found/read on the internet as well. I’ll research Jeff as well. Thanks again guys.

Yes Ahab you are right, but I still get 3 weeks of fishing in May here and 1 week in the Keys. Just need some variety every now and then!

I don’t know about inshore, but we went with capt John Reynolds who owns “drop back charters” and he was top shelf. Slayed the black fin and Mahi. Tons of fun to fish with. Has a website if you google it, pretty easy to find. He is out of islamorada.

We used Brian Cone on the Contagious…he is considered the Tiger Woods of fishign down there…
