Headed down to New Smyrna area next weekend. Anybody have any suggestions for a guide? Want to catch my first Snook!! Trying to keep it under $400 for the wife and I. One last thing, tipping the guide, what’s fair?
Thanks folks.

Really like Capt. Nathaniel Lemmon at Florida Sight Fishing. He works hard to put you on your target with the best in boats & gear. That’s his back yard and he’s a real student of the Lagoon. No doubt he’ll put you and your wife on them. His 6 hr. rate is $400. Can’t speak to the tip though I’m interested in responses. Last couple trips my fishing partners took care of it.
Here’s Capt. Lemmon’s website. He also has a Facebook Page, look him up. http://www.floridasightfishing.com/info.htm

Fifty to a hundred for a tip is nice. They work hard for a,living

I put the same topic up a couple weeks ago and got a couple responses. Look at the Mosquito Lagoon thread on he next page. Good luck. Let me know how it turns out. Very interested in a trip there in the spring.

Depends on how hard they work and how much they satisfy you. Just like a waitress or waiter in a restaurant. If they do a sorry job, tip them nothing. If they do a great job then at least 20% of the trip price.

If you want an real interesting trip, try a kayak guide. Less cost and they can find some good spots that boat cannot get to.

Thanks for the info. Ended up booking with Patrick Rood (he is Nathaniel Lemmon’s IFA fishing partner). Hopefully will have some photos to post when we get back! Thanks again…
