I’m thinking about getting an old beretta double barrel but not sure if it’s a good idea. It is a hammer shotgun and was wondering if they are reliable field guns. It is a 16 ga and I think i can get it for 600. Any input? Not sure if it is worth it or not?

The 471 silver hawk is a beautiful side by side and they also make some nice over and under that you can get new under that $600 mark. If you are bird hunting and just want the bird in crowd gun do it. If you want it for an all around field gun, you can get a used A300 outlander semi auto for about the same price.
On the used market January, April and May seem to be good months to get one. Tax return money is not in or gone and not many have hunting in mind.
Impossible to say whether it is worth it or not without model #, information or condition. Beretta has some junk guns but they also have some highly collectible and rare guns. Could be worth $400.00 or it could be worth $12,000.00.
