H&T May 30

First time out bohicket creek leaving the ramp around 5 out to edisto banks. Put lines in around 150 and started catching in 200. Put 5 mahi in the boat with the biggest going 23 in 200 ft. Went to Edisto Offshore reef looking for kings, but only got AJs.

H&T - you camping at Lake Aire and fishing a Pioneer? We met last month at the campground. I saw the Tidewater that I recognized along with a pioneer when we came by the campground to pick up our camper. We ended up camping at Oak Plantation and fished Sat as well. Glad to see that you had the fuel capacity to make the trip to the ledge. Congrats on the catch.

Any day you caome back with fish in the box and a smile on your face is a good day. Congrats

Cbyte, yeah that was us. It was good talking with you last time. We were just talking about your outriggers and thinking about doing similar things. Any particular reason you switched to Oak Plantation?

The trip out was what I would refer to as cauliflower (just beginning to white cap). So I was a little nervous about the gas. I haven’t had a chance to fill the boat (long story), but I think we returned with more the 1/3 of a tank.

How did you make out Saturday?

Thanks for the trip H&T. Next time you need to stick around for the feast afterwards. Those mahi tasted fantastic cooked on the camping stove shortly after we took this picture.

H&T - the campground thing comes down to 2 words “air-conditioned bathhouse”. We really like both campgrounds but the comfort level at OP is alittle higher

We found a small rip in 300-350ft - caught 8 phins: ranged from around 8 lbs to about 20lbs. We fished the rip all day along with the “Hosanna” they did ALOT better than we did on the same rip

Still tweaking release clip presure on the red-neck outriggers, had one too tight when the 20# hit. The fish stripped the “adjustable” part out of the “adjustable” rod holder. I intend to replace them with stationary soon.

Cbyte, AC would be nice especially in August. I didn’t see your post on your trip. Do you have any pictures? Here’s a couple in the water.
