Had a little fun today

Met up a group of 3 for a guide trip today. I fished with Russ Last Sunday and today he brought a pair of co-workers John and Dave.
We hit the grass for the flood tide, the fish never really got active in the grass tho.

Moved out of the grass to hit up one of my mid-tide flats only to have the guys catching stingrays. :stuck_out_tongue:
I got freight trained on the mid tide flat. He pulled 12 lbs of drag like it was nothing, wrapped me around a submerged mound and I’m pretty sure I heard him laughing as he swam off.

We moved back across the sound to fish a grass edge as the fish were coming out. Didn’t take long until GAME ON!
Russ boated a 31". While taking pics of Russ, Dave gives a shout; he’s hooked up but the red spits the hook after a short run.

Next thing I know I hear Dave again, FISH ON!! GOT HIM ON THE PADDLE TAIL. I start over to take a couple of pics then " WOOOOOOOO Another fish on." His bait rod had started screaming.
The video tells the story

31" and 25" STAND UP DOUBLE

Then Russ hooked another and just like it turned on, the switch turned off.
Lots of oysters showing, so time to bug out. We made it just in time a full 3 hours before dead low.
Super Moon means SUPER LOW TIDE.

NIce report Tommy. Hope you are doing well.

Staying busy Dan. Good to hear from you again.
I heard a rumor there were tailers on the flat near your sister’s house on Saturday.

Tommy,
I can not verify that info on the tailers as I was stuck at a college graduation on Saturday but it would not surprise me. I was busy fishing the other end of these major lows the last week and pileing up the flounder and trout way upriver. I havent been in the grass but a couple times this spring and they were average days at best.

Enjoyed the videos. Never kayaked fished yet, but do fish out my canoe some.

Got to try those Z-Man baits. Look good!

Thanks, Captain Ross

I have to agree with ā€˜Cane’, you guys are a bunch of kids. And I’ll add… please, stay young!

Love the fact that Dave handed the second rod off to you so you could work that fish the right way while he was busy with the first fish and then handed it back to let him do the release. One guys trying to work two fish in (just for false pride) often just results with an injured fish. Good report. Fun video.

Thanks Ty. IF you don’t get excited after pulling off a double through a little coordinated effort, it’s time to take up golf.

I LOVE MY PART TIME JOB

I gotta work on my technique, a double for me usually means I lose them both or a rod gets dunked. Nice video Tommy!

But, sorry Too Busy. I agree with Stretch; that part of the video was painful to watch. You have friends and we are here for you, buddy. Please let us help you.

I was confused to but I didn’t want to hackle anyone …

A lefty who grew up before reversible reels (or you) were a gleam in anyone’s eye  A lefty in the 60’s learned to reel backwards or not fish a spinning reel.

I set the reel for left retrieve for my client, he passed it over, I cleared the line from the oysters, and did my thing before passing it back to my client.
