Future home of ChrisV and Charleston Marine perhaps…
Most small businesses are in survival mode right now,and since there is no handbook of how to do this everyone is trying everything they can from laying off workers, cutting hrs, closing locations etc…there is no universal answer its just trial and error…
it amazes me how some people really like to see others fail…
I do alot of business with the Hanckles, and have a great relationship with them. I look forward to doing alot more business with them in the future. like gutwrench said, cutting costs to do what it takes to survive.
I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com
Gut Wrench…you are right, it is amazing how some like to see others fail…however most of the time these people don’t own their own business as you and I do…they don’t have a clue, trust me…

I agree. I don’t want them to fail. I buy a lot of stuff from them. Just curious what’s going on that’s all.
Stop trying to twist things around like we are some militia group who gets there jollies when stores close in there town. I have lost a bunch of good restaurants lately to. It sucks!
I wanted to let everyone know exactly what is going on here at Hanckel Marine. First I appreciate all of the calls and emails from a lot of you. Just to let everyone know Hanckel Marine is not going anywhere. With the economy still being in the state that it is in and not knowing exactly when things will cycle back out I have made the call to consolidate back to our West of the Ashley location. We all know the economy will cycle out but do not know how long it will take. In saying this I made the call to shut down the Daniel Island store in order to cut expenses. Since Boaters World went bankrupt last spring we have had the building up for sale or lease so that will not change. We are going to continue selling Scout, Tidewater, Carolina Skiff out of this store and of course continue all parts and service. If anyone has any questions or problems please feel free to call me 843-556-2550 or email me at milo@hanckelmarine.com.
I have been a loyal customer for several years and wish you the best. The Service Department, Ben and Mike have been reliable, professional and priced fair.
I send you business whenever I can.
Best of luck, we are all pulling for you:smiley:!

Good to hear it straight from the source Milo! Been using Hanckle in WA lately and sending some folks/clients there with grade A results. Good honest people there for sure.
