Handheld GPS

I am doing a trip to the Everglades with some buddies in May and taking the gheenoe. I am in need of a handheld GPS to take along to make certain we find our way back to the ramp each day.

What I’d like to do, should one of you fine gentlemen be amenable to the idea, is rent one for ~5 or 6 days.

If you’d be open to entertain that offer please let me know, and thanks.

If you have a smart phone you could get a navigation app.

Yes, but I tend not to trust my phone as a primary source of navigation for something like this. Battery life is not that great, and I’d like to find a more robust option.

I have an old Magellan hand held you can borrow, I haven’t used it in a few years. It doesn’t have any maps on it, but it’ll record your track and it will get you back to the hill. PM me if interested.

Just picked up that Garmin from LunaSea, thanks bro!

That trip should be epic. I expect the typical jerms photoblog when you get back!

Not a problem, it was nice meeting you yesterday. We will have to snag a few fish when you get back.
