Jacques-Yves Cousteau! he would have been 100 years old today. Besides my father, he was my biggest childhood hero and mentor.

Inventor of the Aqua Lung, ambassador of the oceans, husband, father. He truley protected what he loved, the ocean. His name carries on in a orginazation called Ocean Futures, headed by his son, Jean Micheal Cousteau. They have no other motive other then to protect the oceans of the world from pollution and other evils and are all about sustainable harvesting from the oceans with responsible practices.

My 4t grade teacher was a world traveler when she was younger and not only met him but got to dive with him in Australia. She had a picture of the two them at the Great Barrier reef. She is the person that sparked my fascination with the sea.
